Interface
Flexibility
- The
Pilot Pak comes complete with its own integral 12 channel
GPS, and dual channel DGPS
- The
Pilot Pak has three additional communication ports for
the user to interface to any additional navigation aids
such as heading, depth, rate of turn, and speed log. The
Pilot-Pak will accept any of these signals in the NMEA
0183 protocol.
- In
addition there is an external LPT port for interface to a
printer, or an external CD-ROM drive.
Data
Compatibility
The Pilot Pak
accepts raster chart data in the BSB, NOS, CHS/NDI, ARCS formats.
In addition the program will accept vector data from Navionics,
and Transas (January 1, 1998). This "multi-fueled"
approach ensures world wide chart coverage while providing the
vessel operator the ability to pick the best available data
sources for his area of transit.
